New DualDisc™ License Logo Application Process
A record label is required to obtain a license to use the DualDisc™ logo on its products. To obtain a license for use of the DualDisc™ logo, you must submit a license application through this website. If you are an authorized representative of a record label and wish to obtain a license for your label, you can submit a license application online by following this process:
| Read License Terms | If your license application is accepted, your label will be authorized to use the DualDisc™ Logo in accordance with the DualDisc Trademark Licensing Terms for Record Labels. To ensure consistent quality and avoid consumer confusion, licensees are required to comply with all the requirements set forth in the DualDisc™ Logo License Book. THESE DOCUMENTS WILL CONSTITUTE A LEGALLY BINDING AGREEMENT BETWEEN RIAA AND YOUR LABEL. Please download and review the DualDisc Trademark Licensing Terms for Record Labels and DualDisc™ Logo License Book before proceeding further. We suggest that you print copies for your records. |
| Enter Corporate Information | You will enter corporate and contact information for the licensee and list all affiliated labels that the licensee wishes to include as "Covered Label" under the license. Affiliated labels must be owned, controlled or operated by the licensee or an affiliate that is 50% or more owned by the licensee. |
| Enter Payment Information | You will enter credit card information for payment of the logo license fee. There are two payment options for a DualDisc™ Logo License. A trial license limited to two releases by a licensee and its affiliates (in the aggregate) within a one year period is available at a cost of USD $100. A license that is not limited by the number of releases is available at a cost of USD $250 per licensee and affiliated label or label imprint up to a maximum of USD $2500 per year. These fees are generally not refundable, and are subject to change without notice. Payment can only be made online and must be made with Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Diners Club. |
| Submit License Application | After completing entry of all information above you will be given a final opportunity to confirm your intent to apply for a license and your agreement to the licensing terms. At this point, your information will be submitted for processing by our staff. |
| Receive Confirmation | You will receive one email confirming that we have received your application and a subsequent email when the license application is approved. Your credit card will not be charged unless and until a license is granted. |
